Greetings FL-IX Members,
As some members may already know, FL-IX, in cooperation with ColoHouse, recently installed a physical switch within the ColoHouse facility located at 36 NE 2nd Street, Suite 400, Miami, FL.
This switch will enable ColoHouse customers the ability to directly obtain a FL-IX port within the ColoHouse facility and no longer rely on riser cables to the DataBank (formerly zColo) facility on the 7th Floor.
We have a carefully planned migration MOP that will provide minimal downtime for FL-IX members located within this facility. We are essentially just moving your fiber pair from one port to another within the same rack in the ColoHouse MMR. Your new port will be pre-configured and ready to reconnect immediately to the IX fabric. We plan on moving each member port one-by-one to ensure that the port comes back up and is passing traffic.
If you feel it necessary, please drain your traffic prior to the maintenance by placing your BGP sessions in shutdown. Please do not disable your ethernet port as this will delay our progress during the migration.
This maintenance will take place on February 9th, 2021 at 11pm Miami time and should complete within 1 hour, but we are requesting a window until 4am.
