Greetings FL-IX Members,
Back in December, we had planned on conducting a maintenance to migrate to a new switch at DataBank (36 NE 2nd, Suite 700, Miami), which was subsequently cancelled due to some parts delays.
Since then, the switch has experienced two unscheduled reboots, once in January, and again this morning. Arista has now shipped a replacement for this switch, but we would like to take advantage of this emergency replacement situation to upgrade to the new switch which is already in the cabinet and ready for migration.
On Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at 12:01am Eastern Time, we will be replacing the edge switch members connect to at DataBank with a higher capacity switch, as well as replacing the existing patch cables.
Estimated downtime for members at this location will be up to three (3) hours, however, our maintenance window will be from 12:01am to 5am Eastern time. We will of course try to minimize downtime as best we can.
For the duration of the maintenance, we will block BGP traffic only to those members affected by the maintenance as described in BCP 214. Sessions will re-establish after the maintenance has concluded. No action is required on your part. To those members not directly connected to this switch, you will see sessions go down to the members that are directly connected, so please keep that in mind.
