Subject: [FL-IX] CIX-ATL service affecting upgrades, Thu 3 June 2021

Hello CIX-ATL members,

CIX-ATL now has 37 connected networks, 13 of which are connected at 100G.

To accommodate this growth, we need to perform several upgrades, which will occur between 12:01am and 3am Eastern time on Thursday, 3 June 2021.

FL-IX in Florida will be unaffected.

Members who are connected to CIX-ATL at Equinix AT1 and AT2/3 will be migrated to new switches at those locations.  This will allow us to support additional 10 and 100G member connections, add support for 400G connections at AT1, upgrade the inter-site links, and bring several new members online at Edgeconnex Atlanta.

Additionally, we will upgrade the switch software at all sites.

During the upgrade window, forwarding across the fabric will be disrupted and your ports will go down for several minutes.  No action is necessary on your part.

In the unlikely event that you experience problems after the completion of the window, please contact the CIX NOC at [email protected]

If your network is not yet connected in Atlanta, come join us!  Ports are free for the first year and you can sign up here: https://www.communityix.org/index.php/cix-atl/

Thank you,

Ryan Woolley
