Dear FL-IX Member,
FL-IX will be performing maintenance at DataBank-MI1 on Thursday, December 11th, 2025 at 2am Eastern Time.
The maintenance window will be from 2am Eastern Time until 5am Eastern Time, although we expect the impact to be less than 30 minutes.
Due to a faulty management port, Arista has determined that we must replace the switch serving members at DataBank-MI1. The new switch has already been received, installed and configured.
Downtime will be minimal as the new switch has already been added to the backbone. The procedure will require moving the transceivers from the old switch to the new switch, which means that if you connect to FL-IX at DataBank-MI1, you will see your BGP sessions blocked, traffic drained, your port will momentarily go down and then return on the new switch.
For the duration of the maintenance, we will block BGP traffic on your port as described in BCP 214. Sessions will re-establish after the maintenance has concluded. No action is required on your part.
Please note: Members directly connected to the switch at Colohouse will not be directly impacted as we have recently added a secondary path between Colohouse and Equinix-MI1.
