Hello Joseph,
I’m writing regarding your 100G port at Equinix-MI1.
When I came onsite tonight, I checked your port and it showed that we weren’t receiving light from you.
I inserted a different optic on the new switch we needed to migrate you to and ran a new patch cable and I still don’t see light from you.
Can you tell me what you’re seeing from us? We may need to get Equinix involved.

It looks like we won’t be able to resolve this until the continued maintenance tonight. It does appear your port at DataBank is working, as I see 22G being passed there. Can you confirm this?

HI, It seems this Maint caused impact. After maint BGP sessions came back up but could not route traffic on it. It had to be shut down to regain Servies.

Sorry for the late notice. The maintenance actually concluded on time at 5am, but there was a lot of clean-up to do.
A little over half the 100G members were moved tonight, so we should be able to migrate all the members tomorrow morning.

As per the notice that was sent on July 19th, 2024, we will be starting the maintenance at FL-IX / Equinix-MI1 in about 40 minutes from now. If you are a 100G member at Equinix-MI1, you will see your BGP sessions drop. We will verify that all members traffic is drained before migrating your port to the new switch.

Greetings FL-IX members,
To accommodate the continuing growth of the exchange, earlier this year we installed two brand new Arista 7289 switches at Equinix-MI1 to replace the Arista 7504R switch that our 100G members at that site are currently connected to.
On Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 and Thursday, August 1st at 12:01am ET each morning, we will begin the migration of 100G members at that location. The migration will occur over two days and have a window of ~5 hours each morning, ending at 5:00am ET each day.
For the duration of the maintenance, we will block BGP traffic only to those members affected by the migration as described in BCP 214. Sessions will re-establish after the maintenance has concluded each day. No action is required on your part. Members whose 100G ports are connected at Equinix-MI1 (50 NE 9th St, Miami) will be moved to one of the two new switches and will experience a brief loss of link as ports are migrated.
