Greetings FL-IX Members, On Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026 at 1am EDT, FL-IX will be performing route server maintenance on both route servers. This maintenance will allow us to introduce a feature called ADD-PATH (Read about it here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7947) that many of our members have been asking for. We have been testing this feature at CIX-NoVA for some time, and we feel we are ready to implement it now at both FL-IX and CIX-ATL. Since adding this feature requires sessions to reestablish, you will see your BGP sessions with the route servers go down momentarily. We are staging this so that this will be added to one route server at a time. Sessions will drop first on rs01 (206.41.108.4/2001:504:40:108::1:4), reestablish, stabilize, and then we will add the feature to rs02 (206.41.108.5/2001:504:40:108::1:5) and the process will repeat on that route server. If all goes smoothly, this should not be disruptive to our members. Please assure that you have sessions established to both servers before the maintenance period.
