Members,

As announced when we launched in October 2014, FL-IX will be free for 3
years for members who joined at that time. While it's impractical (though
desirable!) to provide a scalable, multi-site IXP for free forever, we've
strived to keep our overhead low and our offering reliable.

To that end, we are announcing that beginning April 1, the following fee
structure will be implemented for FL-IX. ATL-IX, launching in the next few
weeks, will eventually have a similar fee structure, but will share the
same commitment to an extended period of no fees.

10G port ARC: $1250 billed annually ($104.66/month)
100G port ARC: $3750 billed annually ($312.50/month)
10G NRC: $0
100G NRC: $1500 or a dedicated QSFP+ optic

Those that join FL-IX before 4/1 (and/or are already existing members) will
be guaranteed no port fees until January 2018, when the above fee schedule
will be implemented for every member. We will shortly be posting this fee
schedule to the website and providing a very simple billing agreement.

Our founding sponsors, Zayo and Netflix, will continue to provide much of
the support that helps keep Community IX sustainable, but as we lower our
reliance on these spnosors and move more towards a self sustaining model,
we feel that these fees are necessary. These new fees are locked in until
April 2019 and we will provide sufficient notice if any changes are
contemplated for that period.

We have lots of exciting news coming for CIX - from the impending Atlanta
launch to our significant switch platform upgrade in NOTA, we're striving
to provide you with a competitive product at an unmatched price. Our
volunteers have worked tirelessly to provide you with a world class IXP
platform.

For the Community IX Board,

-Dave Temkin
